Default Protected Classes

Protected Classes by Compliance Type

When creating a plan, the default list of protected classes is set based on the plan's compliance type. 

  • Non-Discrimination: All protected classes, except for Total Minorities. 
  • 503/VEVRAA: All protected classes, except for Total Minorities. 
  • State and Local Reporting: Total Minorities and Female
  • Workforce Analytics Under Attorney-Client Privilege: All protected classes, except for Total Minorities. 

These groups will be analyzed in plan calculations and displayed in corresponding reports. 

Changing Protected Classes

To change the selected protected classes in your plan, access Plan Settings > Protected Classes. There, select or de-select each class you wish to change. 

  • Total Minorities
  • Female 
  • Asian
  • Black or African-American
  • Hispanic or Latino
  • American Indian or Alaska Native
  • Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander
  • Two or More Races
  • White
  • Male

After changes have been made, click the [Save] button, which is located at the bottom of the page.

Cascade Changes to Sub plans (Master Plan only)

A menu will appear, asking whether to carry over the settings for Protected Classes to sub plans. Check the box, and click [Save].
