About Job Group Structure

Job Group Structure is an advanced feature for creating custom Job Groups in balanceAAP that go beyond the standard EEO categories. The feature is comprised of two sections - Job Group Summary and Job Group Structures.

Job Group Summary

This sections provide users with the ability to review the plan's Job Group information and preview how a custom Job Group Structures would impact their plans when applied. Additionally, individuals may use this page to split and merge groups into new and different job groups that better suit their plan needs.

Job Group Structures

In this section, users can merge existing job group entries into more defined structures and save them as “templates” to be used in the Job Group Summary section.

When Should Job Groups be Customized?

The goal in assembling Job Groups is to have meaningful analysis groups, based on group size, plus similarity in job title, pay range, and seniority level. For most organizations, the standard EEO categories will suffice. For larger, more complex organizations or even small companies and others, the AAP analysis may benefit from reconfiguring one or more Job Groups.
